Privacy Policy

Who I am

This is the personal website of Ajit D’Monte at https://fblah.com. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, e-mail me at [email protected].

The short version

  • There are no user accounts, no comments, no analytics and no advertising on this site.
  • This site does not set any cookies.
  • If you use the contact form, your message is e-mailed to me and is used only to reply to you.

What personal data I collect and why

Contact form

When you send a message through the contact form, the following is e-mailed to my mailbox: your name, your e-mail address, the subject and your message. I use this only to read and answer your message. Messages stay in my mailbox for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and are then deleted.

To prevent abuse, the contact form script also keeps a short-lived record of how many messages were sent from your IP address. The IP address is stored only as a one-way hash, outside the public website, and the record is discarded after one hour. Technical errors are logged without the contents of your message.

Spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that messages are sent by a person and not a bot. The Turnstile widget is loaded from Cloudflare only on the contact page. To do this check, Cloudflare processes information about your browser and device, such as your IP address. Cloudflare says Turnstile does not use this information for advertising or tracking. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details.

Embedded videos

Posts on this site show YouTube videos as a preview image hosted on this site. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you click play. When you do, the video is loaded from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube may then collect data about you as described in Google’s privacy policy.

Posts link to other websites (for example GitHub, YouTube and social networks). Those sites have their own privacy policies.

Server logs

The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like most web servers, the hosting server may keep standard access logs (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser user agent) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify or track visitors.

Cookies and local storage

This site does not set cookies. If you use the light/dark theme toggle, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage on your own device and is never sent to the server.

Who I share your data with

I don’t sell or share your data. Contact form messages are sent through Hostinger’s e-mail service, and the spam check is done by Cloudflare, as described above.

Your rights

You can ask me what personal data I hold about you (in practice, only e-mails you sent me), and ask me to correct or delete it, by e-mailing [email protected].
